These distances we've selected are rather short but we think these distances will hopefully be achievable for all participants.

Here's our plan for inclement weather:

We will have this event and do our best to make it happen unless:

A.  We will delay the event in bad weather with no thunder or lightning for 30 minutes.

B. Cancel the event.  The Race Director and volunteers don't want to cancel this event but if in the case of the Race Director's decision, get your packet and Polar Bottle the day of the event. 

C.  In case of inclement weather, there are NO REFUNDS.

Reminders for our 2014 event

Hello all! I am getting fired up about our 4th Midsouth Kids Triathlon! Here's a quick list of reminders:

-Packet pick up is Friday, Aug. 15 at 5:30-7 pm and Saturday, Aug. 16 at 7 am at the Crowley's Ridge Country Club.  Medals and Polar Water Bottles are guaranteed for the first 100 participants
-The event starts at 9 am, transition area closes at 8:45 am.  We will start with the older age group first on Saturday
-Enter at races online.com, day of registration will open at 7:00 am on Saturday
-Trophy presentation will be immediately following the event, 3 deep in each age group
-Lodging:  Village Creek has fantastic cabins and is 20 minutes away, Days Inn and the Coachman's Inn are in Wynne
-Crowley's Ridge Country Club will be open for lunch at 11 am
-There's a list of what to bring on here (helmet, towel, lawn chair, etc)
-We are looking forward to another fun, safe event!  See you there!

Just a little info about next Saturday's triathlon, we have 44 participants registered so far!  This is more than last year at this point.  Just to let you all know, the fabulous Conway Kids Triathlon was canceled a week ago due to rain and lightning.  They had 355 kids totally disappointed.  Their race director emailed us last week about our kids tri.  We are excited to welcome the Conway and Little Rock area participants to East Arkansas.  We hope you are impressed by our part of the state!  The Crowley's Ridge Country Club will be open for lunch 11-2 with grilled burgers and hot dogs as their specialty.  So grab a bite if you'd like before you head out!

In the past, we've averaged 55 participants and will most likely have more this year.  Having said that, we've beefed up the number of volunteers and aid station supplies.  We still have a cap of 100 for the event.

Weather-wise, it looks like 80 degrees and clear for Saturday's event.  Let's all keep our fingers crossed as today we have heavy rain and thunderstorms!  We look forward to a safe, fun event for participants and parents alike!  See you Saturday, registration opens at 7:30 and the transition area will close at 8:45, pre-race meeting will be at 8:45 am and we will start at 9:00 am.  - Keeli
